“It doesn’t matter how you move, but what moves you.” - Pina Bausch

A sacred space to connect with self, Self and each other through the Discipline of Authentic Movement.

The discipline of Authentic Movement is a contemporary mystical practice centered in the development of embodied witness consciousness.

As a practice it is grounded in the relationship between mover and witness. For both, attention is concentrated in the development of the “inner witness”, wich is one way of understanding the development of consciousness.

Originated by pioneer dance therapist Mary Starks Whitehouse, developed by Janet Adler in the early 1980’s.

Through the relationship between mover and witness, AM supports the exploration of “being seen” and “seeing”, allowing mover & witness to achieve a level of perception of Self and other that evokes deep respect, empathy and connection and develops an embodied conscious witnessing.

It allows us to explore the relationship between the creative, psychological & sacred dimensions of our experience through bodily expression.

Originated by pioneer dance therapist Mary Starks Whitehouse, the discipline evolved through Janet Adler’s lifework. It is a subtle, but powerful practice that offers a bridge between our conscious and unconscious.

No experience needed.
